Discussion:
- Question put forth by Dr. Ravin N. Das, answered by Dr. Atul Mishra
& Dr. H. S. Ray: Why does CNVM have a predilection for the
macular area. In reply - The macular area is a relatively avascular
area of the retina, therefore hypoxia is more pronounced. CNVM arises
due to this hypoxia.
- Dr. Ravin N. Das informed the members present about two web sites
eyefloaters.com
and vitreousfloaters.com
detailing treatment for vitreous floaters using a specially
designed YAG LASER.
- Professor Dr. R. K. Mishra suggested a uniform consent form
for informed consent prior to eye surgery. The form should be detailed
as per the procedure and should be in English and Hindi.
- MP State Conference for the year 2005 should not be held
as AIOS conference is to be held in Bhopal in January 2006 and it
will be difficult for the hosts (JDOS) to get sponsors and the likelihood
of low attendance in the State Conference.
